The California Reinvestment Coalition and several of its member organizations met with elected officials and representatives from financial regulatory agencies last week as part of the National Community Reinvestment Coalition’s 2022 Just Economy Conference Advocacy Week.
Each year, CRC convenes a California delegation to meet with DC-based regulators and policymakers. This year, CRC met with the Office of the Treasury, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), and the offices of Sen. Alex Padilla and Sen. Dianne Feinstein.
Officials discussed topics relating to reform and modernization of the Community Reinvestment Act, CRA Reform/Modernization, access to capital, affordable housing, and lending discrimination among other urgent economic issues.
The California delegation included representatives from CRC member organizations such as Richmond Neighborhood Housing, East LA Community Corporation Services, the Sacramento Housing Alliance, and the Reinvent South Stockton Coalition.
